Remote Control Football Robots — 2 Player Set

What it's for

Football is always better with someone to beat.

This set puts two programmable robots on opposite ends of a pitch, each driven by its own remote. Dribble towards goal, time the shot and try to outmanoeuvre the other player before they score first.

The driving is simple enough to pick up in a minute, while programming mode adds a second layer for anyone who wants to go further. Record a run of moves, replay it, then adjust it until it does what you wanted. Trick plays, goal celebrations, a rematch after the rematch: there is always another game in it.

How it works

Each player takes an infrared controller and drives their own robot.

Walk in any direction, slide across the pitch, adjust the movement speed and shoot at goal. The controller keeps every function on one pad, so children are not hunting for the right button mid-match.

Programming mode records a sequence of movements and replays it automatically. LED head lights give each robot its own expression between goals.

Designed for family game time

Everything needed to play is in the box.

Assemble the pitch, position the goals, charge the robots over USB and start the match. Suction cups hold the pitch borders in place so the frame does not shift when a robot runs into it.

Each robot runs on a rechargeable 3.7V 500mAh lithium-ion cell. The controllers take 2 & times; AAA batteries each, which are not included.

Storage and space

The pitch breaks down into flat sections and packs back into the box between matches.

Each robot stands 15 cm tall, so both fit back into the box alongside the goals and pitch sections. Set up takes a few minutes on any smooth indoor floor, so a living room, playroom or bedroom all work. Carpet and outdoor surfaces will slow the robots down.
